CLEAR ANSWERS. MORE TIME TO READ.

A few good filters.
A reading list of your own.

We help you explore science fiction through different kinds of recognition. Here is how the library works, where the facts come from and what your reading list saves.

How do I find my next science fiction book?

Choose one or more awards, then select winners or finalists and a novel or novella. Every selected award is matched by default. Open a book to inspect its award history and save it to your reading list.

What does winning multiple awards mean here?

Wins count distinct award families. A book that won Hugo and Nebula counts as two distinct wins. Repeated recognition within one family does not inflate this count. Finalist appearances and historical Locus poll selections are shown separately.

Which awards and books are included?

The public library contains science fiction novels and novellas from selected Hugo, Nebula, Locus and Arthur C. Clarke categories. Historical Locus poll selections are labeled. Science fiction and fantasy crossovers are included with a label and can be filtered. This is not every science fiction award or every book ever written.

Are Locus books reader favorites?

Locus recognition comes from reader voting. The library distinguishes formal winners and finalists from the historical poll selections included in its source records. It does not substitute those votes for Amazon or Goodreads star ratings.

Does my reading list disappear when I close the browser?

No. It is saved in local storage for this website in the browser you use. It persists across normal browser sessions. It does not sync across devices or browsers. Private browsing, clearing website data or browser storage cleanup can remove it. Export the list to keep a copy or move it to another browser.

Is the site free?

Yes. Browsing, filters and your local reading list are free. Some Amazon links may earn a referral commission at no extra cost to you. The affiliate tag does not change award facts or the starting shelf.

Are every cover, blurb and Amazon edition available?

No. Missing or uncertain metadata is labeled. Purchase buttons are shown for sourced ASINs or owner supplied direct product URLs. Some novellas appear in a named collection. A displayed cover can be a different edition from the purchase link, so check the format and language before buying.

Where do the award facts come from?

Award records are sourced from the Science Fiction Awards Database, with links in each book history. Bibliographic and cover sources are credited separately. Nebula ceremony years in this source may differ from eligibility years on official award pages. No reader rating is fabricated.
